Outline
Luke 18:9; Romans 6:14
Introduction:
Now we know that grace and legalism are opposites; but, do we know why and do we know what grace and legalism are in life?
Transition:
What is the difference between Grace and Legalism?
I. Some things that are always right under grace
II. Some things are always wrong under grace
III. Some things are right, sometimes, and wrong, sometimes, for the believer.
Here are some guidelines:
-We are to use but do not abuse the world.
-We are to enjoy the world but do not love the world.
-Never hinder the spiritual growth of another person (I Cor. 8:13)
-Do all to the glory of God (I Cor. 10:31)
IV. Rules under grace are okay.
Conclusion:
If legalism is not having rules and guidelines, then what is it? Legalism is really an attitude like the Pharisee.
Application:
True liberty is the freedom to serve Christ; to live as God pleases.
