We always have about two weeks of warm weather in February. It seems to happen every year. Then, right behind it comes March with its cold, blustery winds. It is nice to have a reprieve from the winds of winter and to be able to enjoy the warmth. Fruit farmers get concerned about their crops if it stays warm to long. Many people get expectant about Spring and some even 'jump the gun' on getting their gardens ready. But, it does not take long for reality to set in - it is still winter! Spring will come and warm weather will eventually be upon us. The one thing which seems to be a common thread in all of the above things is planning. There is an anticipation about change and an expectation of what that change will bring in their lives. While they patiently wait, the anticipation and expectation only builds and sometimes makes them a little impatient. If there is anything we learn it is that patience produces experience and impatience only disappointment.
In your Christian life, there are ups and downs. There are seasons and expectations. Yet, there are some constants that are always true. "they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength". All of nature waits. At the right time it will bloom in all its beauty. So, take courage. God blesses even in the midst of difficulties. As the warmth in February, God will bring blessings into your life even in the times of 'out of season'. And with patience "joy comes in the morning". Tears only last for the night! Hold on to your anticipation and your expectation because God is faithful and He loves you dearly. Jesus died, was buried, and rose again for you. "Faithful is He who called you, who also will do it." May God bless your life today.
