Have you stopped today to pray? Have you stopped to thank God for His many blessings? I hope you have begun today as you would any day - with devotions and prayer. There is no shortage of the need for prayer. Our nation and others need us to be praying for them. Take out your prayer list right now and look at those names. Those are only the "tip of the iceberg when it comes to those who need prayer. I am sure that there are needs in your life as well. So please pray.
As we begin the summer season, there are many people who have worked hard to make it possible for others to both enjoy summer activities and to serve our Lord. From the children's activities to the senior adults, there will be much to do. You can participate and you can invite others to participate. But the simple truth is, if you do not participate there is no way that you will be able to get others to join in as well. These activities are not just for you or for me; rather, they are so that we can use these as a tool for ministry and outreach. Sometimes I will hear someone say, "Well, I don't want to go there". That is a very self-centered statement. It is not all about us but about Christ and what we can do to encourage others to come to him. So many still have "I" problems and do not even know it! So do not let this summer be about "I" but about "others"; you will have a lot more fun and blessings that way.
So, gear up, pray up, rev up, and participate. Lose your "I" problems down on your knees in prayer! May others see you in church worshipping Sunday - but most of all your Lord!
Because of Him,
Pastor Kirt
