This Sunday is a very important day in the life of the church. For several years the church has been planning toward a future that is strong and vibrant. There have been untold hours of work, study, and prayer put into the future vision of the church. We do not presume upon God as James 4:13,14 warns us about; rather we seek to follow God as James 4:15 teaches us "If the Lord will...". The church has been faithful in the challenge before us as together we have been able to pay off the property. Now we face the choice of starting construction. The Child Development Center will accomodate 135 children--what a great outreach ministry in the heart of both the industrial area of Anderson and a diverse cultural area of Anderson. How many families will be affected from moms and dads to siblings and grandparents. Yet, this is only the beginning of the great vision Varennes Heights has adopted for the church. It is our desire to have a ministry that reaches out to those who both work and live in this area with facilities that provide a ministry to every age group and for various activities. As anyone who lives and works in this area of Anderson can attest to, facilities and opportunities for families are limited in our area; that is the reason we, as a church, want to make a difference in this area by ministering to the family through the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that directly impacts people's lives and the community in which we live. The fields are ripe unto harvest; the vision has been cast; now is the time to capture that vision.
